The VUILLAUME workshop, founded in 1850, is one of the oldest embroidery workshops in France. It perpetuates the expertise of embroidery for the most prestigious Houses of Haute-Couture, Ready-to-Wear and Luxury Accessories.
The VUILLAUME family business is keen to highlight its know-how, which dates back more than a hundred years, and to convey this traditional image throughout the world.
Creation and innovation in embroidery will be synonymous with the perpetuation of a traditional craft whose cradle is the Lorraine region.
History
A family business
1850
Constant Vuillaume
In 1850, Constant Vuillaume had the dual profession of wine merchant and manufacturer of white embroidery and other lace.
1899
Louis Vuillaume
Constant Vuillaume’s son, Louis, succeeded him with his wife Maria, who was a great specialist in pearls and Lunéville stitch. It was Louis who acquired the house in the heart of Diarville which is still the Vuillaume workshop today.
1920
Jean Vuillaume
Louis’ son, Jean, continued this activity by concentrating on the manufacture of evening bags embroidered with pearls.
1967
Xavier Vuillaume
Xavier Vuillaume took over the business, specialising in luxury ready-to-wear clothing.
2016
Hubert Vuillaume
Today, Xavier Vuillaume’s son, Hubert, continues the business in the fields of clothing, fashion accessories and interior decoration.
